SAGA NYC is a slow fashion brand functioning as an evolving art project. Everything is thoughtfully conceptualized, carefully handcrafted and packaged by the designer in Brooklyn, NYC.

Sandra Gagalo's design philosophy focuses on a versatile, minimalistic & slightly sci-fi approach to creating high-quality statement pieces. The  collections and garments she's been developing are meant as thought pieces. By wearing a SAGA NYC garment you are expressing to the world that your spirit shines bright and you think outside the box.

A polish immigrant, Gagalo went to the High School of Fashion Industries in Manhattan and then received a BFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology with accomplishments on the Deans List, an Honors Award for her AAS Exhibit Design and a feature in the BFA Fashion show. After graduating Sandra apprenticed at Altuzarra and later worked as design assistant to Yeohlee Teng.

However, after cutting her teeth in the High Fashion World, by 2014 it was clear that the dream was to have a fashion brand of her own. SAGA NYC (an initialism for Sandra Gagalo: New York City) was founded that year. The first Collection 'Universal Androgyny' provided many opportunities for the brand to start growing. All the while Sandra freelanced at Calvin Klein Underwear until 2020.

Fast forward to launching a 6th collection, Gagalo has dressed celebrities Noah Cyrus, Leah McSweeney, Nelly Furtado, Susanne Bartsch and Amanda Lepore in custom-made garments & garnered press in media publications such as Galore Mag, Paper Mag & Document Journal.

Envisioning a better future for us all and creating it. The brand values sustainable practices, inclusivity and freedom of expression.
